Conference Topic: The Impact of extreme poverty on preventable diseases.
Topic Overview: The goal of ending poverty is elusive, sustained poverty reduction will require growth that is not only high but of higher quality. This goal of eradicating extreme poverty to aid preventable disease can be achieved through policy advocacy, grassroots mobilization, communications, and creative campaigning using indigenous concepts, pressure on policymakers to increase their efforts, accountability, and transparency in the fight against disease outbreak and poverty.
Short Profile Bio: Alfred has over six years working experience in non-profit sector both rural and urban communities in Nigeria, as a Returned Volunteer with Voluntary Service Overseas, Nigeria where he worked with Nomadic community of Kwara State, Nigeria to help promoting sustainable means of education, enhancing literacy and numeracy with the Nomadic children and the host community. He recently resumes his new voluntary role as the Program Manager for Girl’s Pride Initiative a community based organization aimed at instilling Sexual and Reproductive Health awareness on Girls in Ondo State, Nigeria through advocacy visit to secondary schools, seminar on health and menstrual hygiene, pads donation and life skills orientation.
Alfred holds a Bachelor degree in Zoology from the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa. He is committed to using his skills, influence and resources to promote sustainable health awareness, education and social entrepreneurship. He was the Head of the University Peer Education group where he organized programs that reached over 4,500 university and secondary students. Previously, Alfred was the Campus Director for Hult Prize International program tagged the World Students’ Nobel Peace Award a social entrepreneurship program for Students all over the world, this program brought together students with different innovative and creative ideas to pitch and launch such ideas with small startup grants in the school. He is capable of working long hours with a sense of direction and has ability to blend with different people irrespective of their economic, religious and academic background as an advocate of inclusive community. He is a researcher, SDGs Advocate, Gender equality Champion, sexual and reproductive health expert, life building coach and public speaker.
